to The Shady Grove Farm. Please enjoy your
virtual visit to our 227 year old family farm.
We farm about 90 acres using an array of sustainable
agriculture practices. Our passion is farming in a way that preserves the
wisdom of generations past, while still embarking on the ever-evolving path of sustainable
agriculture and living.
Our farm is as diverse as our philosophy. We grow
over 250 varieties of
heirloom vegetables,
scores of fruit varieties, nursery stock (both edible and ornamental), grass fed meats
and eggs, and many other farm products.
Our fruits and veggies are produced using "traditional
organic" methods, "permaculture", and "biodynamics".
We use virtually no off farm inputs for fertility, instead utilizing animal
manures and green manures as soil building nutrients.
Our poultry and other livestock are all hormone and antibiotic free, living on
lush, green pastures. All of our livestock are treated with herbal remedies
(that we make ourselves). We do not use pharmaceuticals/chemicals/antibiotics.

We will be selling at the
Hillsborough Farmers' Market
on Saturdays from 8AM to Noon and Wednesday from 4PM to 7PM! This week
only, in honor of the 4th of July we will have a sale on our pastured pork chops
and roasts as well as our famous free roaming eggs!
Our pasture raised eggs were tested
and featured in a Mother Earth News article.
